  I really am angry about half of these....

  There's nothing new in that - obey only us, do the work we set you, don't associate with anyone else, or read anything else, or talk to anyone else - now go home and only think about what we told you to think, no thinking for yourself now, and don't forget the authorities' road rules. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  Help! My "devout" JW's mom is "pioneering" at age 76 on a cane.

  posters i have tried "everything" to show my mom that the wts is full of beans but she just won't budge.

  i have heard through some non-jw's relatives that my mom who is 76 years old and having alot of problems with her knee is pioneering.

  i am so worried about her standing in front of the donut shop or supermarket at 6:00 am.

  Judicial Committees and the 'Two Witnesses' Rule

  i'm not and never have been, etc.. i was not even aware jcs existed until a couple of months ago - but now i understand a lot more from the postings i have read (and i find some them tragic).. two thoughts struck me as an outsider.. the first is to agree with the advice/suggestions given by many posters that submission to the jc process is a voluntary thing.

  in the real world any court or tribunal can only act or consider issues if it has 'competent jurisdiction', laid down by law.

  a jc only has 'competent jurisdiction' over a jw if the jw consents to that jurisdiction.

  The witnesses should not be present for the entire hearing,
  
  since they do not need to hear details and testimony that
  
  do not affect them.

  Well, there's a loophole you can use - it affects them if the person they know is upset by the proceedings

  SO, What happened to : "the generation will not pass away" idea ???????

  okay, growing up a jw in the 70's 80's and early 90's, all we heard about was how the generation of 1914 will not pass away,(much like witnesses in the 60's and early 70's all heard about 1975) (what a great parallel) conventions, watchtower articles, public talks, endless studies and of course every issue of the awake magazine had it on the inside cover, it was everywhere, brothers, sisters and elders were absolutely sure about this, the society constantly mentioned it in our kingdom ministry (service), it was everywhere.

  then with the change in november 1995, it just kinda disappeared and became unimportant.. does the society even mention "this generation will not pass away" anymore ?????.

  seems to me, that the past 10 years, it has hardly been mentioned anywhere anymore.. what do you think ??

  Are the wtbts more paranoid of "other information" ?

  has the wtbts impetous for controlling and prohibiting other information sources become stronger, and more of a focus for control and in regards to who is an apostate ?

  They understand that information (including things about them) is more readily available.

  I'd also like to say - how can people read the bible, and then follow a group that has been proven to give false prophecy and continually says "the time is at hand" ??????? wtf ????????

  Did you notice that the Society did not say – We have at times speculated, but “Jehovah’s people have at times speculated.” The blame for a lifetime of misinterpreting the scriptures and making false prophecies in God’s name is shared with the membership.

  More than shared - it was given. There's never any "we" - it's always someone else - no matter how far you dig into the wtbts, there won't be anyone who admits to response-ability.
